YOUTH WORKER - Children's Services - Townsville

Based in Townsville, you will support children and young people with disabilities,complex needs and challenging behaviours to live their best life. This is your chance to give back and work for a leading Not-for-Profit organisation with continued growth 2021 and beyond.

As a Youth Support Worker, your role is to work closely with children and young people (aged between 5 and 17 years) to be at the centre of their decision making and enable them to achieve the desired outcomes of their plans, goals and aspirations in partnership with their families and carers


  • Providing direct care within a residential setting, responsible for promoting positive family relationships and creating a safe & homely environment
  • Working directly with children and young people within a trauma-informed framework
  • Responsible for making a clear DIFFERENCE in the lives of children & young people who have complex needs and display challenging behaviours including possible verbal & physical


  • Certificate IV in Child Youth and Family intervention or equivalent OR experience in a similar role
  • Passionate and dedicated to assisting children who have a disability & have experienced trauma
  • Ability to work rosters shifts including weekends & sleepovers
  • Hold or willing to obtain a Blue Card, Yellow Card, Drivers Licence, First Aid & CPR
  • Experience supporting children and young people in residential out of home care & with trauma backgrounds and disabilities (Desirable but no essential)
