    Our client is based at Wingfield and they are currently seeking an experienced hands on Workshop Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and allocation of work in the Workshop to ensure the delivery of completed works on various projects.

    Key Accountabilities include:

    • Manage all Workshop activities via workshop supervision, leading hands, and employees.
    • Ensure fabrication activities are conducted within budget and on time – Manage hours/labour and on-time delivery.
    • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required by Project Managers and Operations Manager.
    • Ensure the early identification and reporting of workmanship issues.
    • Drive productivity and efficiency initiatives in the Workshop.
    • Ensure that all stakeholders in the various projects are regularly updated on progress and informed of any potential delays to schedules.
    • Ensure that the Company is fully compliant with ISO9001-2008 and that all members of the business are aware of the requirements and their obligations under the Standard.
    • Ensure that the Company is fully compliant with all Federal & State Legislation relating to OH&S Issues and matters.
    • Develop the skills and experience of all staff in Fabrication Techniques & OH&S & Quality matters.
    • Ensure that Plant, Vehicle and Equipment Registers are maintained.
    • Ensure that team members are working in a safe manner and that there are safe systems of work assigned to all tasks performed.
    • Provide support and or assistance to Leading Hands and personnel with respect to Workshop Safety.
    • Utilise all acquired skills, knowledge, and experience to build and develop a ‘Team Spirit’’.

    What you will need to succeed:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience on construction sites/workshops and has worked in a supervisory role.
    • Experience and knowledge of working within the structural steel industry.
    • Tradesman Qualifications.
    • Have working knowledge of the various welding styles and consumables required for different materials and procedures.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical workshop drawings.
    • Experience in report generation and MDR input.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated experience using MS software.
    • Experience in leading a productive team.
    • Superior interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence people in a positive manner.
    • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to think and work strategically as a leader.
    • A strong and positive work ethic.
    • Must be an Australian Citizen
