    Our client is based at Wingfield and they are currently seeking two experienced hands on Welding Supervisor/Inspectors. These roles report to the Workshop Manager/Operations Manager, responsible for the QA/QC on all welding works undertaken at the clients workshop/site for the upcoming projects. The job is based at the workshop, however, there will also be some site-based work at various locations during the installation phase of the projects.

    Key Accountabilities include:

    • Supervise all welding in Workshop and site activities via leading hands and employees.
    • Ensure fabrication activities are conducted within budget and on time – Manage hours/labour and on-time delivery.
    • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required by Project Managers and Operations Manager.
    • Ensure the early identification and reporting of workmanship issues.
    • Drive productivity and efficiency initiatives in the Workshop.
    • Ensure that all stakeholders in the various projects are regularly updated on progress and informed of any potential delays to schedules.
    • Ensure that the workers comply with all Company and State/Federal safety procedures and legislation.
    • Ensure that team members are working in a safe manner and that there are safe systems of work assigned to all tasks performed
    • Provide support and or assistance to Leading Hands and personnel with respect to Workshop Safety.
    • Utilise all acquired skills, knowledge, and experience to build and develop a ‘Team Spirit’’.
    • Read, interpret and understand weld procedures as per the various industry-recognised welding standards.
    • Maintain an industry acceptable standard of competency in welding skill and ability, specifically meet the coding requirements of AS1210 – Boiler Code, AS1228 – Boiler water Tube, AS4041 – Pressure Piping, AS3992 – Welding Certification Code, ASME – Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code.
    • Review fabrication drawing and associated traceability documentation including ITP’s, weld maps and weld logs and liaise with workshop leading hands.
    • Maintain company welder traceability databases and records on welded workshop fabrications and onsite welding.
    • Review completed NDT reports and welder proficiency including defective welds and the remediate repair solutions.
    • On-the-job training of QA/QC systems used in the workshop.

    Essential Criteria:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience on construction sites/workshops and has worked in a supervisory role.
    • Must have Certificate 10 in Welding Supervision or equivalent.
    • CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
    • Tradesman Qualifications.
    • Read, interpret and understand weld procedures as per the various industry-recognised welding standards.
    • Understand the various material codes and associated weld properties which go with them
    • Have working knowledge of the various welding styles and consumables required for different materials and procedures
    • Have knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 and associated quality standards.
    • Experience in report generation
    • A strong and positive work ethic and not afraid to get in and be hands on.
    • Must be an Australian Citizen
