Located in Melbourne's South-West suburbs, Our client is a market leading global retailer, currently looking for an experienced Warehouse 2IC to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a productive and forward thinking team, working in an environment where professional development and organic progression is a key focus moving forwards. You will play a vital role in supporting the Warehouse Operations Manager, to meet the daily demands and ensuring that productivity of all teams are met to set standards.
The Opportunity
As the Warehouse 2IC some of the responsibilities include:
... - Manage activities for cycle counts, correct stock variances or inaccuracies
- Support with the management of a roster of 5 full time staff and 20-30 casual staff.
- Foster and enhance a culture that takes pride in its performance, delivery and work environment and seeks to continually improve
- Develop and contribute to 'best in class' processes within the warehouse.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal & external customers to ensure high standards of service delivery.
- Supervision of normal operational activities from receiving to dispatch and everything in between.
- Ensure a high level of compliance with OH&S requirements and enhance an organised and clean working environment.
- Supervise and lead warehouse teams & individuals to achieve team KPIs and goals
Skills & experienceTo be considered for this role you must possess the following:
- A minimum of three years experience in a similar position.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Possesses a problem-solving mentality and analytical nature.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and make decisions promptly
- A Team Player who sees the value in supporting all parts of the business
- Must have knowledge of warehouse procedures
- AP21 system experience highly regarded
- A forklift ticket is essential. LO is an advantage.
- Exposure to ERP/WMS and automated warehouse operations.
- Exposure to OH&S and understanding of safe work practices.
- Knowledge in apparel and footwear is advantages but not essential
