Randstad is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor for a Large National Transport & Distribution company based in Truganina.

This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is responsible for maintaining an efficient and productive warehouse team.

Primary responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Effective utilisation of allocated resources
  • Communicate effectively and support Warehouse Manager in developing and improving warehouse procedures and operational results
  • Supervise and assist the day to day running of the warehouse operations, with specific focus on receipts, picking, load creation and the timely despatching of transport operators
  • Ensure all site personnel are trained and competent to perform tasks, including recording these competencies and maintaining these records
  • Manage and coordinate rosters and rostering activities, including maintaining appropriate payroll and time records and recording and reconciling payroll information (overtime, allowances, leave and rosters).
  • Supervise and assist in stock counts, stock reports and audit procedures
  • Champion and support the company values and safety standards within the operation and with customers, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
  • Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed safety goals, in line with the annual site safety plan, or real time changes in safety performance.

About the successful applicant:

  • Must be able to work Monday to Friday commencing at 2pm
  • Experience in warehouse operations within transport industry is essential
  • Infrastructure and/or equipment management experience
  • Champion and support importance of safety first
  • Good understanding and application of budgeting and finance systems
  • Customer service focussed, with experience in direct customer service
  • Experience in supervising employees
  • Strong time management skills
  • High level of skill in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Understanding of legislation applicable to workplace, including duty of care responsibilities, chain of responsibility legislation etc
