The candidate we are looking for must be extremely organised, be a hard worker, have good learning, memory recall, hand eye coordination, speed and accuracy. This role involves a high level of performing repetitive tasks such as bulk labelling, inserting and packaging. The candidate must be able to handle undertaking these tasks over a long period of time.

The candidate has to be prepared to work in all areas of the warehouse to assist or backfill other team members.

A current DCSI Child Related clearance is essential prior to commencement of assignment. Please note that these can take up to 3 months to receive so the applicant MUST have this before applying. Applications without a current DCSI working with children check listed on their application will be automatically rejected.

Key Functions

  • Distributing material for internal and external customers such as fliers, brochures, books etc.
  • Collating and packaging
  • Sorting and grouping of documents
  • Enveloping
  • Labelling
  • Preparing mail for delivery
  • Operate automatic and semi-automatic machinery such as strapping machines, heat sealers, pallet jacks, enveloping machines.
  • Packing and unpacking of cartons.
  • Picking and packing of orders
  • Maintaining pigeonholes
  • Receive and sort mail correctly.
  • Unloading goods from vehicles
  • Inspecting and checking incoming goods accurately and validate against delivery documentation
  • Removing and disposing of packing materials
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse
  • Producing manifests

Skills required

  • possess good communication skills and have the ability to understand verbal and written information and instructions
  • must be prepared to perform repetitive tasks

  • ability to deal with enquiries from drivers, customers
  • answering phone enquiries
  • a good knowledge of metropolitan and country South Australia
  • sound knowledge of preparing mail for post (ie completing consignments, understanding Australia Post services).

  • sound knowledge and understanding of mail operations
  • high level of accuracy

  • have a positive attitude
  • be proactive
  • be prepared to stand, being on your feet and moving around all day

Hours 7:30 – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

During busy periods, flexibility is required to work before and after hours.

Hours are modified during school holidays and are generally reduced, depending on workload.
