About the Role
The Senior Policy Officer plays a vital role in the wider Policy Team with expert and authoritative policy analysis, advice, and support.
The Senior Policy Officer will collate and analyse data, interpret findings and make informed recommendations on policy implications as part of a high performing team. It is expected the Senior Policy Officer will utilise their well-developed writing skills to produce briefs and papers for senior executives and Ministers. In a fast-paced, dynamic environment, your policy expertise will be applied to develop presentations, speaking notes and other preparatory work, on a variety of matters and for varying audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide informed and authoritative advice to senior executives on current and emerging government priorities.
- Develop policy, program, and reform initiatives within the relevant branch.
- Prepare high-quality briefings, presentations, and reports for various stakeholders.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to support government priorities.
- Identify emerging issues, risks, and trends, and develop innovative solutions to address them.
Requirements
- Full work rights
- Previous policy experience
- Stakeholder management experience
- Government experience would be desirable
