About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Visitor Services Officer to join a highly regarded NSW Government Organization in Parramatta for an initial 12 month contract for an immediate start.

Duties:

• Coordinate shelter bookings functions and manage more complex shelter bookings (not bookable online), space bookings, seasonal ground allocations, park activation activities, filming and photography applications and associated administration.

• Coordinate use and management of the parks’ Digital Activity Calendars (a calendar of all activities within the parks) and website shelter Bookings systems (both within website Silverstripe application).

• Maintain up to date visitor services related information on Trust websites.

• Evaluate and assess small activity and event applications, risk assessments and liaise with applicants and internal staff through the approval process.

• In collaboration with the Director, Operations and Visitor Services and Senior Program Officers liaise with internal teams to provide advice on user and visitor requirements.

• In collaboration with the Director, Business Development and Senior Program Officers develop strategies to initiate and coordinate the promotion and use of the Parks to community groups, event organisers and the wider community.

• Actively develop and foster strong communication networks with key users of the park, including school groups, sporting groups, recreational and community groups, cultural communities and short-term licensees to promote the Parks and develop new community partnerships, uses and support small event and activity programs.

• Compile, maintain and present accurate records and reports on visitation numbers, activities, booking statistics and income. Manage in-park vehicle and pedestrian counters and data and associated contractor.

• Maintain and update visitor policies and procedures to relating to park use and activities, assist Park Coordinators to build awareness and understanding of these and assist in gaining input and support from stakeholders for the activities and events of the Parks as well as supporting stakeholder activities.

The successful candidate will need to have the following attributes:

  • being able to provide confident and quality Customer Service;
  • Possess a working knowledge and experience of Risk Assessment processes and Work Health and Safety management within public places and activities;
  • Possess a working knowledge of and ability to operate website functions, spreadsheets, and visitation data;
  • Assessing and applying policies and undertaking promotional activities for visitor activities and small events within public spaces.
