job description

Overview:

  • Working on an interesting training program (Army’s largest training roll-out)
  • This is a 6 month temp role starting end Jan 2021, with a possibility of a 12 month extension.
  • A valid/current Baseline Security Clearance (AGSVA) or NV1 Clearance is required.
  • Working from the Oxford Street Barracks (Paddington, Eastern Suburbs of Sydney).
  • External work is to be expected, with multiple weeks of domestic travel per year (complimentary valuable travel allowance included).

Role 1: Training Integration Manager - managing key relationships across the Army to support the implementation of the DATE training roll-out.

Role 2: Training Product Development Manager - using imagination to build training products (creating narrative to use during scenario training e.g. Country and enemy info)

The Program:

  • You can research more on: date.army.gov.au
  • Working in the DATE program, which is currently being rolled-out across Army, to analyse their responses to threats/terrorism/criminals by using various realistic scenario’s in a fictitious world with ficticious characters.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with all military stakeholders around Australia regarding the DATE program, how it is implemented and what is covered.
  • Drive the implementation of DATE training products and tools supported by the program
  • The ability to create narrative content, to be used within training scenarios
  • Preparing agendas/minutes for meetings with external and internal stakeholders
  • Investigating and responding to queries/complaints related to DATE training support activities.
  • Preparing briefs and performance reports.
  • Managing contract arrangements with external contractors and suppliers.
  • Promoting regular communication across the program, and a safe working environment.

You will need:

  • To be a charismatic and confident communicator.
  • Ideally have a background as a Military, Naval or Airforce officer.
  • Imagination and creativity.
  • Strategic thinking skills.
  • Decision making and judgement skills.
  • Governance and risk management experience.
  • You must have a valid/current Baseline Security Clearance (AGSVA) or NV1 Clearance (gained from working in Federal Government).
