About the Role

The Traffic Engineering Officer is responsible for conducting routine network investigations and technical assessments, and make recommendations for improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and considered draft responses to customer issues to ensure that the precinct has a customer focus.
  • Ensure the delivery of a high level of customer service by undertaking assessments and reviews of existing issues out on the network in consultation with internal clients.
  • Conduct site inspections, data retrieval and reviews to enable the drafting of responses to correspondence issues.
  • Contribute to the consistent application of guidelines, policies and technical directions.
  • Implement appropriate network management procedures to ensure the quality of activities, outcomes, and records.

Requirements

  • Understanding community expectations and balancing them against set policies and technical requirements.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant experience, in road safety and/or traffic engineering.
  • Ability to apply set policies and guidelines relating to traffic management, road safety and speed management issues.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills including the ability to present information.
  • Good written and oral communication skills including the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with staff at all levels.
