SPECIALIST BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT PRACTITIONER - Dubbo, NSW

Your new workplace is a highly regarded not-for-profit, community based charity that provides a wide range of disability services such as social support, living arrangements and disability employment. They currently have an opening within their intensive therapeutic care team that houses young people who have exeptionally complex support needs.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Foster an environment of support, to ensure individuals feel safe from abuse and neglect
• Develop the independence and pro-social behaviour of children/adolescents
• Conducting comprehensive functional behaviour assessments
• Design, implement and review behaviour support interventions
• Educate and support care team staff in the implementation of behaviour support plans

ABOUT YOU:

• Demonstrated experience creating and implementing Behaviour Support Plans
• A Bachelor’s or Masters in an Allied Health profession (Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology, Social Work) or Special Education
• Knowledge of the NSW Child Safe Standards for Permanent Care
• Solid understanding of the impact of trauma, abuse and neglect on children/adolescents
• Capacity to train and support staff with respect to best practice
