The OpportunityWorking within the IaaS Product team (Infrastructure as a Service) that delivers secure, highly available infrastructure including Windows, Unix, VMware, Cloud IaaS and PaaS, Server and Storage.The role will be responsible for the leadership and development of a team of highly skilled technical Unix platform engineers. The team has a focus on delivering stable reliable systems by maintaining security, patching and availability. The delivery of stable platforms is enabled by an equal focus on innovation, automation and new technologies to improve service delivery.This is a continuing, full time position based at the Nathan campus. Griffith is a multi-campus university and it is therefore understood that this position will work across campuses as required. About YouYour relevant IT tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, experience and skills coupled with excellent technical and problem solving skills will be a foundation. Your technical skills will be complemented by demonstrated high-level oral and written communication skills and a record of delivery of excellent client service.Effective leadership, timely quality deliverables, implementation and a passion for technology and how it can be used to benefit the University will be key to success in this role. The ideal candidate will have proven skills and experience in most of the following areas:Redhat Enterprise Linux and associated support tools and technologies or similar.Orchestration of deployment and configuration (e.g. Puppet Enterprise or similar)Programming and scripting skills applied to automation and solution developmentExperience with repositories, deployment using CI/CD pipelinesMonitoring, logging and analysis toolsExperience with cloud based deployments and support (e.g. Azure, AWS) well regardedExperience working in an Agile delivery environment well regardedExperience in deploying containers and administration of Docker Swarm/Kubernetes would be well regarded.
