They will assist the Senior Engineer to manage the design and delivery of the Telco packages for the Sydney Metro City and South West project.The overriding key accountabilities for the role is to ensure that the telco system requirements are delivered to exacting safety and quality standards and that they attain client approval/sign off.Key responsiblities include:Reviewing and commenting on the contractor's deliverables to meet milestone schedules.Resolving critical issues and carry out technical inspections when necessary.Prepare comments and responses to Telecoms related submissions, programme issues and provide options/recommendations.Telecommunications systems will include Fibre Optic and Copper cabling backbones anddistribution including Outside Plant, CCTV, Public Address , Information Display Systems,Telephony, Distributed Control System Systems, Building Management Systems, IntrusionDetection and Access Control Systems, LAN/WAN and Communication Room Design, NetworkArchitecture, safety-critical communications systems, architectural, electrical and mechanicalsystem layouts related to telecommunications.Co-ordinate onsite installation and commissioning activities, monitor progress, help to resolve any problems and ensure the works are completed as per the approved designs.Ensure site works are carried out safely.Prepare the defect list and support the handover of the completed works to the operator.Required qualifications, experience and skills include:6 years relevant experience in managing Telecoms Systems and related interfacecoordination for high value multi-disciplinary rail projects.Solid understanding of OCC Systems including COM and CCTV control system and/or SystemCCS control system.Relevant degree in electrical, electronic or communications engineering.
