We are looking to source on behalf of a leading government rail organisation a Rail Technical Manager for a contract position that can be based in either Sydney or Canberra.
The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of technical services during the development phase of a major rail infrastructure project which is currently in the planning and development phase.

- Provide Technical Contract Support
- Offer technology and Innovation Support
- Manage Project Delivery
- Provide Support For The Overall Team and Workstreams
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
Suitable Candidates Would Be Expected To Have The Following Skills And Experience
- Experience in rail infrastructure projects, including major project (+$5 billion) development and delivery.
- Experience supporting contract administration, monitoringperformance, and ensuring alignment with project milestones.Demonstrated experience in coordinating engineering inputs across major rail projects, including track, stations, rollingstock, and digital train control systems.
- Ability to review technical deliverables for compliance with standards, safety regulations, and operational requirements.
- Familiarity with systems engineering, safety assurance, and risk management in large-scale infrastructure environments.
- Have a relevant engineering degree- CEng status (ideal).
The contract will last until 30 June 2026 initially. The pay rate is the equivalent of $140,000-$150,000 plus super so probably below the current market rate, however, this is a fantastic opportunity to work on a ground breaking project and opportunities for other permanent or contract positions offering higher remuneration in future may be available.
