For a growing software business in the centre of Melbourne CBD, Randstad Technologies is currently seeking a Technical Application Support Analyst to join them on a permanent basis. This is a newly created role, following a new team structure that has been put into place to better increase the organization's efficiency.

Your main focus is to provide the companies' clients with timely and accurate technical support, including detailed analysis of technical issues impacting software and services; and to manage the implementations and conversions of new and existing clients’ databases.

Day-to-day:

  • Provide advanced technical support for all services provided, including difficult and previously undocumented issues, while meeting or exceeding defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Advanced application support, including client installation, database conversion and application upgrade assistance, for all software programs developed and sold by the company
  • Manage complex conversions of databases from competitor products into company databases utilising SQL queries and provided utilities
  • Provide complex problem diagnosis, including the use and interpretation of Windows tools (such as performance monitor and event logs) and application logs to aid in fault diagnosis
  • Act as an escalation and resolution point for known technical issues.

  • Technical Skills – Ability to troubleshoot and analysis complex technical problems
  • Actively maintain a good understanding of the following technologies:
    o Relational Databases inclusive of SQL (Firebird and SQL Server) with an expectation
    to build unique queries and manipulate data from many sources
    o TCP/IP and networking
    o Microsoft Desktop and Server Operating Systems, inclusive of Terminal Services
    o Computer Security including network security and antivirus systems
    o Citrix, and other virtualisation and application streaming systems
    o Disaster recovery (backup and restore) systems
