My client is a leading Government Agency and currently has a 3-4 month immediate contract requirement for a System Support Officer to come on board to Provide high quality service and support to end users/stakeholders of all operational information technology. Contribute to the preparedness of the computer aided dispatch system and associated technologies within the organisations redundant control centre.

You will have a proven track record working in a similar role, have excellent communications and a collaborative team playing approach.

To be considered for this role you will have the following skills and experience:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Continuously assess and evaluate the system performance through performance of relevant system monitoring and checks.
  • Provide immediate telephone and online support in the use and application of all Operational IT at all times, including those outside normal business hours. Support is provided onsite when necessitated by problems of significant operational impact.
  • Maintain accurate records of all support requests and action taken to resolve/complete.
  • Provide comprehensive reporting and notifications of all high impact/politically sensitive support requests.
  • Ensure the early identification, escalation and management of IT problems through regular analysis, review and reporting of support activity and trends.
  • Respond to all high impact/politically sensitive failures immediately, applying proven IT methodologies to restore full operational status quickly.
  • Create and maintain documentation pertaining to the support of emergency dispatch system and its ancillary systems as required.

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience as an end user of operational information and communications technology (ICT) with a demonstrated understanding of how technology enables and supports overall organisational performance. (Preferably with Computer Aided Dispatch)
  • Sound knowledge of the policies, processes and frameworks pertaining to the use, support and management of operational ICT
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including interpersonal presentation, negotiation decision making and judgmental skills
  • Excellent task prioritisation and time management skills
  • Ability to work as a team member in a critical environment, ability to solve complex operational problems and provide high service standards in frontline service delivery of IT systems
  • Experience in IT with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to a widely varied audience across the organisation.
