    Based on the north shore, a local council has an exciting opportunity for Sustainability Officer to join their Environment & Sustainability team. As the Sustainability Officer, you will deliver key actions and projects from Council’s energy management and sustainable buildings strategy. You will ensure continuous improvement in asset performance and delivery of Council sustainability objectives.

    Responsibility includes:

    • Continuous improvement of operational energy efficiency and asset sustainability performance
    • Project scoping and specification of capital works targeting sustainability
    • Provision of technical advice, resources, and guidelines for staff on sustainable assets best practice
    • Corporate reporting of Council energy and emissions footprint
    • Identify and implement opportunities for operational energy efficiency and asset sustainability
    • Support Council staff to implement sustainable buildings best practices

    At Council, building sustainability performance is taken to be a broad work area including elements such as materials selection, thermal envelope design, indoor environmental quality, thermal and lighting comfort, indoor air quality, and energy and water management.

    To be successful in this position, you will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or substantial work experience in a similar capacity, such as environmentally sustainable design, engineering, facilities management, energy management. You will have expertise in developing business cases, technical specifications, energy management and emissions monitoring, with great interpersonal skills and a strong collaborative work ethic.
