    Our Queensland State Government client is a renowned asset owner who delivers road infrastructure projects across the local region. Due to an increase in workload, they are actively recruiting an Assistant Surveyor to join the team on a long term contract opportunity based on Sunshine Coast.

    In this role, you will use your technical knowledge, expertise, and leadership abilities to help contribute to all activities which help achieve the successful completion of projects within scope, time quality and cost to meet stakeholder expectations.

    Duties:

    • Under the direction of the Surveyor, work as part of a team on surveys required for road infrastructure projects
    • Assist the Surveyor in the field surveys including the compilation of and storage/recording and set out of spatial data
    • Assist in applying modelling techniques to meet project requirements and undertake basic data processing operations
    • Set up and operate survey equipment such as EDME and GPS
    • Maintain effective liaison and communication with the surveyor and the survey team on all matters relating to the execution of the survey
    • Assist in analysing, interpreting, and reporting on data from the systems using appropriate reporting and software presentation tools
    • Assist in the interpretation of image data

    Skills & Experience

    • A basic understanding of surveying practice and knowledge of data and information acquisition
    • A current Class ‘C’ Drivers Licence
    • Certificate III – Spatial Information Services will be highly regarded
    • First aid certificate (desired)

    It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives.
