About the Role

Site based role to provide project surveillance for the construction of a new access road from the M5 East to an existing substation. The project involves high degree of attention to safety, security of existing assets and interface with a number of stakeholders. The position will support and work with one Project Manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify, mitigate and resolve risks and issues, including taking prompt and decisive remedial action where necessary
  • Monitor the works against quality requirements as definded in the specifications and drawings, this will include the release of hold points as required in the contract documentation
  • Monitor programme and report progress to the MPP PM on a regular basis
  • Collaborate and manage complex stakeholder and project needs, by working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support and facilitate the effective delivery of the project
  • Manage the contractor to ensure they are following their work method statement

Requirements

  • Highly developed site experience managing contractors with demonstrable results
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline
  • Ability to comprehend the technical and operational risk aspects of complex infrastructure contracts
  • Experience with MS Project or Primavera (not essential)
