Manage the supply chain for Erskine Park ensuring supply chain operates in an effective and efficient manner, and that material and planning is in place to fulfil commitments to customers. Maximise availability of product to satisfy market demands within planned inventory levels.

Lead the warehouse, inventory, procurement and planning teams and ensure the transport provider provides a consistently efficient and cost effective service.

Manage the position responsibilities and be accountable for the achievement of key result areas under Health and Safety, Manufacturing Costs, Supply Chain Excellence and DIFOTIS

You will be responsible for the Planning / Purchasing, Warehousing and 3PL areas of the business Reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

You will be progressive in your mangement style, have high energy and always be looking to improve and implement systems

  • Demonstrated and extensive experience in a planning role
  • Working knowledge of planning concepts, and systems (and IT Systems) related to planning such as Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII)
  • Warehouse Management System: Project Implementation
  • Understanding of demand management and forecasting accuracy
  • Working knowledge of supply chain concepts
  • Experience in short lead-time manufacturing industry
  • Experience in Warehousing functions
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Leadership and coaching skills
  • Experience with an ERP system
  • Strong PC skills – Word/Excel/Outlook
  • Strong working knowledge of business rules & Standard Operating Procedures in relation to Stramit supply chain
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings/plans
  • Flexibility in approach to delivery of outcomes (prepared to be hands on and customer facing)
  • Ability to prioritise workload, flexible in approach while mindful of business rules/policies
  • Professional in dealing with internal and external customers
  • Ability to think quickly to solve problems within tight time lines
  • Proactive behaviour to bring new ideas forward for discussion within the group
  • APICS or other production/planning qualifications - Diploma/Degree qualification, or studies towards.
  • Work experience - Management experience of leading operations preferably in the manufacturing sector
  • People management experience
  • Supply (purchasing and inventory) experience
  • Role specific technical expertise:
  • Tactical planning
  • Purchasing/Supplier Negotiations
  • Materials Resource Planning (APICS or Oliver Wight)
  • Lean manufacturing

Customer service management

  • Working knowledge of the steel fabrication/building industry
  • Experience in the Steel Industry
  • Experience in roll forming industry
  • Knowledge of Movex ERP system and Actuate reporting

Experience with Owner Pick-Up areas / counter sales
