- Full-time, 2-year fixed-term position, with the possibility of extension
- $95,000 base salary, plus leave loading and a generous contribution to superannuation
About the opportunity
This position has been designated for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only under the provisions of section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
You will be joining our client’s reinvigorated portfolio as a solutions-focused Engagement Coordinator to act as the primary point of contact for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students by providing support and unraveling opportunities beyond core academic pursuits.
Utilising your service-oriented approach, you will develop pathways to support the wellbeing of Indigenous students by linking them directly with relevant service providers and effectively facilitating resolutions. You will drive collaborative efforts and support joint program initiatives between other student support areas across to deliver a seamless, enriching and integrated service offering to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Your keen interest in continuous improvement is essential as you attend various workshops and assist in identifying and addressing relevant trends or areas of improvement. As an advocate of cultural competence, you will be actively involved in student Open Days, sharing the narrative with prospective Indigenous students, and supporting Indigenous Scholarships.

- strong knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and culture
- extensive experience working in a high-functioning team delivering support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
- proven ability to build and manage trusted stakeholder relationships with tact and professionalism at all levels
- flexibility in your organisation and planning skills in order to balance competing agendas and demands in a fast paced, time pressured environment
- outstanding presentation, communication and negotiation skills to deliver messaging on a variety of channels to varied audiences.
