About the Opportunity
APS6 Strategic Communications Officer, 6-month contract with a strong possibility of renewal. This full-time position offers a flexible, hybrid work environment, ensuring a great work-life balance. While the role is based in Richmond or Geelong, some in-office time is required. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to apply.
About the Team
The Strategy Branch provides strategic advice to business areas and the agency's senior executive. We help them prioritise and make decisions about work to improve the work of the agency and deliver improved outcomes for participants. The branch ensures projects and initiatives align with agency priorities, and we provide insights and solutions through a flexible approach, in partnership with stakeholders.
About the Role
This role involves gathering and developing structured insights and recommendations to address complex challenges within strategic projects. It requires conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis, including modelling in Microsoft Excel, and drafting materials for senior internal and external stakeholders, such as the Minister, Board, and Executive Leadership Team. The role also includes presenting recommendations, facilitating discussions with agency stakeholders, and creating content for embedding change, such as policy papers, guidance materials, and action plans.
Key Responsibilities

- Utilise experience in strategy development to guide decision-making processes.
- Collaborate effectively within complex cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
- Apply a personal toolkit to navigate organisational complexity and ambiguity.
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence when engaging with stakeholders and leaders across all levels.
