Our client, a market leader in the power and energy industry is looking to recruit an Asset Strategy Engineer. This opportunity has been created due to a growth phase within their infrastructure asset management services division; they are looking for a dynamic and experienced Asset Strategy Engineer to join their team on permanent bases.

Reporting to the Strategic Asset Management Manager, the role will be responsible for providing strategic asset management direction, leadership, expertise, advice and support to ensure the client delivers on its agreed objectives. This involved:

  • Development and Implementation of simple, robust Asset Management System, and it’s subsequent oversight, monitoring and review
  • Leading the development of Asset Management Policy, Strategic Asset Management Plan and Asset Management Plans
  • Consulting and engaging with customers in the development of asset related levels of service and using feedback recommended to recommend to Executive Management on appropriate sustainable service levels, performance measures and targets.
  • Building a strategic organisational asset management capability that supports the delivery of agreed levels of service
  • Ensuring agreed levels are met, including ongoing monitoring, auditing and reporting
  • Working with other teams e.g. Corporate, customer relations etc. in ensuring that systems and processes are in place to respond strategically to changing customer and stakeholder expectations
  • Leading the organisational culture in the continuing development and implementation of a robust, efficient and effective asset management system
  • Working closely with Executive Management Group to ensure strategic asset management is coordinated with the clients strategic goals and objectives
  • Initiating, supporting and leading other teams ‘touching assets’ through organisation and group change efforts to support effective and efficient Asset management System.

This position is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the Asset Management System for the network. Specific roles include:

  • Developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on levels of service and targets
  • Customer and stakeholder consultations on levels of service and targets
  • Developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting of key asset management system documents; Asset management policy, strategic asset management plan and asset management plans
  • Asset risk modelling
  • Asset capital investment forecasting
  • Contributing to the regulatory reset process through asset funding substation
  • Supporting other activities of the strategic asset management team as required
