Our client, a NSW Department are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Stakeholder Interface Lead for an initial 6 month period. Working a major construction project, this contract has a very strong potential to extend way beyond the initial 6 month period. Based in North Sydney this role is responsible for the management of all related stakeholder and community engagement activities for the project.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop a communication and engagement strategy, which includes a proactive stakeholder engagement framework to build/enhance relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies, councils and media

• Devise, coordinate, deliver and evaluate a range of communication collateral to maximise stakeholder engagement and external messaging (including newsletters, fact sheets, emails, and social media)

• Identification and escalation of emerging issues to internal stakeholders and plan mitigation material

• Liaise with internal and external senior stakeholders and support the provision of information for additional briefings by members of the project team

• Provide a point of contact and coordination for this program to ensure consistency across the greater organisation

• Complete other associated strategic planning and communication tasks as required by the project team and/or Director

• Provide regular reports on stakeholder engagement results tracked through the relevant stakeholder engagement reporting tool (such as Consultation Manager)

• Work closely with the Communications Manager – to ensure consistency of approach throughout the Division

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience in communications and stakeholder engagement in road infrastructure development or a transport related field

• Track record in researching comprehensive issues reports to enable forward planning for engagement activities

• Demonstrated experience in the successful development and implementation of multifaceted stakeholder engagement programs for major infrastructure

• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver communications programs for contentious and sensitive public issues, including experience in conducting public meetings and forums and a wide range of engagement tools

• Superior high level communication, liaison, consultation, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to inform and influence audiences at all levels

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex and technical information into accessible public information

• Proven ability leading engagement with senior stakeholders and sensitive receivers

• Strong understanding of industry best practice for stakeholder engagement

• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant experience in communications, media or public relations
