Role overview

Reporting into the Head of Social this is an exciting and diverse role with growth opportunities. This role will be well suited to a social media/content specialist with demonstrated experience working in a busy creative agency environment. As the Content Manager you will be a key player within the business while mentoring junior staff members.

Our client are a rapidly expanding public relations and social media agency who work with large well-known brands, not-for-profits and government department to ensure high brand engagement through combining traditional public relations and digital content.

Key responsibilities

  • Support and lead development of social media/strategy proposals
  • Create a compelling story and narrative through creative and high quality content
  • Make strategic recommendations to clients in their approach to social
  • Assist agency staff in selling social media to existing clients
  • Develop regular and in depth social media performance reports utilising key tools and platforms
  • Educate team members on best-in-class behaviour within the social media space
  • Pro actively and consistently gain, evolve and share social media knowledge
  • Assist senior members of staff with mentoring and training junior team members
  • Pitching ideas to the team and clients

Selection criteria

The ideal candidate will have

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally in an agency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Public Affairs, or Journalism, or other relevant qualification
  • Positive attitude and good cultural fit
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • The ability to proactively identify problems and suggest solutions
  • Strong understanding of community engagement/crisis management
  • Deep understanding of social channels / content types / technologies
  • A positive attitude and great ‘people skills’
