Randstad Defence is proud to service a Major Service Provider on the Future Submarines Program and present an opportunity for an Environmental Specialist - Submarine Systems.The Materiel Seaworthiness Environmental Protection Specialist role is a part time discipline specialist role that is essential in order for the following work to be done, with the particular skill set and focus of the incumbent being on the environmental protection aspects of Materiel Seaworthiness. About the opportunity: The Environmental Specialist will: Respond to the Navy’s Seaworthiness Framework obligations.It is required that the FSP operationalise Navy’s Seaworthiness obligations and to assist the FSP in doing so, key guidance documents are required to be delivered by the Seaworthiness Assurance team, of which this role is a team member. This team member will provide environmental protection technical subject matter expert contribution to the: FSP Safety & Environmental Protection Management Plan and; The Environmental Protection Engineering Assurance Plans (EAPs). They will contribute to the review of the following key guidance document FSP Operational Effectiveness Management Plan. Manage NG and LMA’s response to Navy’s Seaworthiness Framework obligationsThis role will be required to provide review of and support to the FSP delivery teams of Contractor deliverables specifically associated with the Materiel Seaworthiness Assurance Case. Manage the Materiel Seaworthiness Assurance caseThis role will assist the FSP and the contractors in the development of their Materiel Seaworthiness Assurance Case reports. The reports are developed incrementally by the Platform and Combat Systems delivery teams with input to respective cases being provided by delivery of contractor deliverables, in accordance with the dates in the Naval Group and LMA CDRL Tables. About you:The successful candidate must satisfy the following criteria: Specialist engineer in Submarine systemsThe incumbent is to provide ongoing technical support and advice to the FSP on the practical interpretation and application of the Naval Seaworthiness Framework as it relates to management of environmental protection matters for FSM, including balancing environmental regulatory and risk drivers with delivering a safe and operationally effective FSM. This support and advice is provided to the Seaworthiness Assurance Engineer in the development of the Materiel Seaworthiness Case structure and argument, and to the delivery teams on the assessment and generation of case evidence. Clearances:Given the nature of these positions, applicants must be Australian citizens, and a security clearance, preferably an NV1, will be required.
