My government owned client is looking for a SharePoint & ICT Business Support Officer to join them on a 1 month contract starting 01 June - 30 June 2020. Must be available to start immediately.

About the Business Unit

This business unit provides information and dispute resolution services to those involved community titles schemes in Queensland to support the self-management of those schemes. There are 32 team members working in office and remotely.

About the Role

The scope of work to be undertaken involves:

  • Completion of a discovery process to establish and review current information management and workflow systems in this business unit, including interim solutions implemented using Office 365, SharePoint and Adobe Pro;
  • Working with Managers to establish understanding of future vision and needs;
  • Identifying opportunities to undertake iterative design and development to improve current solutions, or develop new solutions that provide efficiencies and support transition to paperless processes and remote working;
  • Establishing high level solution design for agreed priorities;
  • Working with staff to build capability and deliver solutions for agreed priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake rapid discovery to processes:

o Review current interim solutions implemented using SharePoint & other applications to provide the management of:

  1. material and information provided by clients (collection, amendment and version management of dispute resolution applications); and
  2. Workflow applications through case management, referral and conciliation and adjudication processes.

o Identify constraints and pain points.

Work closely with identified managers and staff to:

o Identify improvements to current interim solutions and undertake rapid design and development process for improvements using in app features;

o Identify opportunities to develop new interim solutions utilising SharePoint & other applications to improve efficiencies and support transition to paperless processes for case management activities;

o Identify priorities for design and development of new solutions;

o Support effective management of associated change processes.

  • Undertake an iterative development approach for identified priority improvements and new solutions using in app features, and agile methodologies and practices.
  • Develop and test the solution components, working closely with staff to ensure solutions meet user needs and identified business outcomes including productivity improvements, paperless processes and compliance.
  • Training and coaching for users including O365 & Adobe Pro as required to transfer knowledge of new solutions to staff to build capability to implement future improvements.
  • Develop as-built and support documentation for solutions as required.

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant for this role will be someone who can demonstrate the following key attributes as they apply to the key responsibilities of the role.

  • Demonstrated project management skills:

o Work with business users to rapidly discover, design and develop solutions;

o Build proof of concepts and iterative development;

o Attention to detail and commitment to high quality deliverables; and

o Experience with agile delivery and change management methodologies.

  • Demonstrated skills to provide strategic leadership to design and implement Microsoft based solutions for government organisations to:

o deliver organisational objectives; and

o adhere to relevant legislation, policies, and ethical decision making principles and standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly design and deliver solutions using SharePoint, Adobe Pro and Office 365 to support efficient and effective internal workflows and information management processes.

  • Demonstrated high level of ICT knowledge and skills:

o Creating web forms for action within SharePoint sites, including the auto-generation of emails from bespoke sites to various end points;

o Implementation of SharePoint based workflows;

o Experience with the use of Office 365 API;

o Interaction between SharePoint Online and other Microsoft Office products and case management systems;

o Rapidly design and implement Microsoft based SharePoint solutions in a test and production environment.

  • Demonstrated high level of communication and problem solving skills in a learning environment:

o Ability to transfer knowledge of solutions and build capability in users.
