Our client is a highly recognised player in their domain of expertise.

With the advent of ongoing growth in their project pipelines, they are actively on the hunt for an experienced Unix / Linux Systems administrator to join their team.

Focus

The role will revolve around thought and technical leadership in the configuration, operation and lifecycle of technologies, infrastructure and services that underpin the user experience in the UNIX platform as well as the private and public infrastructure as a service cloud platforms.

The role will take ownership of a diverse range of innovative solutions, including the Clusters and Software product suites running on the Servers, Oracle, RedHat infrastructure as well as a public cloud provider.

These platforms may change as services evolve. The role will also require a solid understanding of supporting services ranging from Database Management and Configuration of Software, Networked File Systems, active monitoring and analytics tools.

Key skills required for the role

Must have :

  • Linux to version 7
  • Technical role with Management or leadership exposure
  • Team player
  • Being able to Sell an Idea to the team and Management
  • Self-manage small projects and direct Architects / PM’s and Business owners ( Own the process and be accountable and being gutsy to get the job done)
  • Self-Motivated
  • Being able to have forward thinking
  • Great attitude to learning
  • History in Solaris unix and clustering
  • ITIL


Nice to Have

  • Zabbix Support
  • Puppet Support
  • Grafana
  • Service Now
  • Oracle and SQL Server

You will be someone who will be specialised to the point where you can give advice to specialist vendors and also provide leadership in developing capability to enhance the user experience within the UNIX Platforms and ensuring consistency between traditional server based computing and virtual computing environments.
