Senior Software Engineer

Working for a leading company in Life Sciences and Diagnostics Technology, this role provides an opportunity to join an exciting and Innovative team within an agile and collaborative environment. You will be working on cutting edge technology implementing IoT functionality and web based control (utilising AWS predominantly) across a range of products.

You must have a minimum of 4-5 years of experience working within software development, and have a thorough understanding of Linux OS designing and developing software solutions.

Essentials:

  • Experience with designing, developing software solutions for Linux O/S.
  • Experience with developing for IoT Devices and Edge services, and interfacing to AWS to ensure operational continuity.
  • Experience with development of web applications and web APIs in ASP .NET Core, Angular, Typescript, REST and OpenAPI (Swagger)
  • In-depth understanding of databases (SQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Microservice/micro-website architecture experience
  • Knowledge of best practice and development methodologies (CI/CD, Agile, TDD)
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplined, cross-department environment over various development sites.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer science / Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (post COVID-19)

Desirables:

  • Experience with OPC Unified Architecture, or other machine to machine communication protocol for industrial automation.
  • Experience with Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes.
  • Experience with DevOps and integration processes and tools – Jenkins, Nexus, VMWare vSphere.
  • Experience with software engineering tools such as source code version control systems (preferably Git) or agile tools (preferably JIRA).
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
