2 x Senior Security Specialists

6 month initial contract

$800 - $1000/day

Sydney CBD

This position is responsible for delivery and support of Cyber Security remediation activities as part of the companies Information Technology and Infrastructure solutions. This role, in conjunction with its peers, will drive the assessment and on-going mitigation of cyber risks.

As a strong team player, you will ensure that all mitigation activities are socialized to key stakeholders and delivered on time including the following:

  • Provide cyber security subject matter expertise on server, networking and architecture
  • Ensure work requests and project work are documented and managed effectively via our Governance framework
  • Relate business needs and cyber risks to network
  • Participate on Security Incidents and related investigation and network basic forensics

Key Relationships:

  • Technology Security Operations Manager (Manager)
  • Cyber Defence Project Manager
  • Cyber Security Operations Team
  • Project, Program Managers and Business users
  • Work closely with Project teams to ensure consistency in systems, standards and solutions
  • Supports internal and external stakeholders through collaboration and consultation to ensure the delivery of resilient solutions

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT related discipline with 10 years post graduate experience or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • Minimum 5years’ experience as a Security Engineer focusing on two or more of the following domains:
    • Infrastructure Security (Firewall Rule review)
    • Data Loss Prevention (Symantec DLP, Websense)
    • Identity and Access Management (Sailpoint, CyberArk, Thycotic)
    • Security Incident Management
  • Hands-on experience on network infrastructure devices and services such as firewalls (ASA, FortiGate, Palo Alto, F5 are a must), routers, switches, is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in using ITIL, ISO 27000 series, COBIT, or NIST Security Standards
  • Hands-on experience in managing and supporting AWS and Azure networks

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Capability to provide thought and technical leadership
  • Effective communication and presentation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Broad knowledge of technology including networking, infrastructure, operating systems, virtualisation, database and middleware, disaster recovery and data centre (Hybrid)
  • Designing solutions for the cloud including Azure and AWS
  • Knowledge of business risk management in infrastructure environments
