Your new Department

Our partner agency, the NDIA, is a national approach to providing support to people with disability and their families and carers. It started its work in 2013 and is currently rolling out in stages across the country. The governing scheme is a transformational approach to disability supports and services that is creating a radically new disability services marketplace.

We are looking for dedicated and motivated people to work to help make a difference in the community and the lives of hundreds and thousands of Australians.

Your new role

Reporting to the Director –provider and market engagement, you will be part of the The Markets Providers and Sector Development (MPSD) Group exists to support the provider market to grow and deliver high-quality supports for participants.

The team is seeking 2 x Senior Provider Engagement Officers to join them

About your role/team:

  • Overseeing market settings (including price controls) to ensure they facilitate market growth;
  • Registering and engaging with providers to understand the NDIS and resolve issues (including payment issues); and,
  • Monitoring the market (and sub-markets) to inform and implement interventions when they are required.

Your roles & responsibilities:

As senior provider engagement officer you will:

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of provider and market engagement and education events and activities to enable local capabilities to deliver person-centred supports and services to NDIS participants
  • Assist with managing sector understanding and expectations through regular and targeted engagement with stakeholders from registered providers and mainstream providers
  • Engage providers to ensure optimal provider satisfaction is experienced at each interaction whilst ensuring alignment to NDIA purpose and Scheme objectives.
  • Work in collaboration with other Agency teams to prioritise engagement and communications to align to business need
  • Manage risks associated with stakeholder relationships proactively
  • Promoting workplace practices consistent with agency policy and in accordance with NDIA values and leadership behaviours
  • Assist in designing practices and resources to effectively implement the NDIA provider engagement strategy.
  • Prepare draft replies to ministerial and parliamentary correspondence, briefs etc.

You will be successful in this role, if you will tick all the boxes below:

  • Have experience engaging with multiple audiences on a diverse range of topics
  • Must be an Australia Citizen
  • Able to engage with diverse audiences and stakeholder groups, including people from Indigenous and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds
  • Confident presentation skills
  • Have your current driver licence and be willing/able to travel
  • Can work well autonomously and part of the team
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office
  • Experience in handling and managing confidential and sensitive information
