  • Federal Government role at the Australian Commission on Safety & Quality in Health Care
  • This Senior Project role is an EL1 equivalent paying $61 - $72 per hour + super
  • 7.5 month temp role with possible extension
  • Working full time hours 37.5 per week
  • Working from home but occasionally in the CBD office for meetings
  • Working on the Clinical Care Standards - SEPSIS


The Senior Project Officer will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development of clinical care standards and associated resources, and identify implementation strategies within a quality improvement framework.
  • Have specific responsibility for the development of a clinical care standard for Sepsis.

Managing the day to day work of a clinical care standards project which includes:

  • project management, research and analysis of clinical information, resource development and writing, preparation of briefing papers and project correspondence, policy development, stakeholder management, and facilitation of meetings.


  • Either relevant health/clinical based qualifications (Bachelors, Honours, Masters) or 2 years clinical research experience (not lab based)
  • Excellent project management & research experience relevant to safety and quality in health care and/or healthcare variations, or health care standards
  • High level research, analytical and interpretation skills, and the ability to synthesise evidence and interpret complex information preferably in a health and medical context
  • High level writing skills
  • Effective oral communication and presentation skills
  • Well-developed negotiation, influencing and consultation skills · Well-developed project management skills
  • Strong resource and time management skills
  • Sound decision making skills, incorporating initiative and professional judgement where necessary.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues regarding healthcare variation and safety and quality in health care
  • Demonstrated excellent writing skills, including the ability to write high quality documents for a variety of audiences and in different formats.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to consult, liaise, negotiate and develop productive working relationships with a wide range of individuals and a wide variety of stakeholders
  • A high level of knowledge and comprehensive understanding of key safety and quality issues.
