KEY INFORMATION

JOB TITLE: Senior Project Manager

LOCATION: Perth CBD

DURATION: 24 month contract

REMUNERATION: Circa $100k - $110k + super

institutions and creative arts sectors, the City ensures it is mindful of the diverse needs of each group. The
City partners closely with State Government on key issues such as transportation and other infrastructure
needs and ensures the emerging priorities of the City are communicated and recognised.



SCOPE OF WORK

  • Managing Building and Civil Infrastructure projects across disciplines within the City from initial design to construction phase to close-out
  • Developing project brief’s including scope, budgets and programs and liaising with other departments
  • Establishing and coordinating project teams and required work to ensure that projects are running to budget and on time
  • Reporting on the progress of projects
  • Administering the role of Superintendent during the project construction stage
  • Effective negotiation skills to achieve resolution of inter-departmental requirements
  • Developing positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders including contractors and Government agencies
  • Liaising with the Directorate Business Finance Officer to prepare and maintain project budgets, programs and reporting
  • Proven skills in the management of construction contracts, to ensure effective contractual risk management



REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

  • Extensive Project management experience in civil/infrastructure/building projects, relevant to municipal engineering and/or urban enhancement projects
  • Tertiary qualification/Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline in Construction
  • Comprehensive knowledge of standards Australia, codes of practices and statutory requirements related to City infrastructure projects
  • High level negotiation, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including extensive use in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project
  • Considerable experience with budget and schedule control relating to construction and maintenance projects
  • Proven practical experience in risk management on municipal and civil engineering projects
  • High level of analytical skills including identification of problems, assessment of alternative solutions and development of recommendations.
  • Resilient and active approach to problem solving whether technical, systemic or interpersonal



Desirable:

  • Local Government experience
  • Postgraduate qualification in Project Management
