Senior Project Engineer (OT)
Randstad has been engaged by a leading provider of integrated water services in Victoria, who manage water supply catchments, sewage, waterways, drainage systems, and water treatment and recycling facilities.
- $900 per/day + GST
- Hybrid Working model
- Reimbursed fuel or fleet car for site visits
- Initial 6 month contract with likelihood of extension
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with Project Development Lead, Asset Management Principals, and interface leads to ensure effective program development, prioritization, and delivery.
- Develop asset renewal and optimization business cases for Capital Projects, aligning with business requirements and budgets.
- Lead the development of BNIs (Business Needs Identification) and PBCs (Project Briefs and Charters), including strategic intent understanding, budget development, schedule coordination, and options analysis.
- Define functional requirements during the business case phase.
- Schedule and oversee the implementation of the OT Asset renewals program.
- Consult and collaborate with Operations, IT, Low Risk Capital Governance, Major Projects, and Planning teams.
- Provide technical support for Renewal & Major Projects, participating in CHAZOP/HAZOPs, design reviews, and acceptance testing as required.
- Support OT asset data creation and updates as needed.
- Assist Operations teams with technical inquiries and issue resolutions.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Extensive experience and expertise in SCADA and PLC control systems, including development, coding, and testing.
- Knowledge of Operating system lifecycles, virtualized environments, Ethernet, and Fieldbus networks.
- Proven track record in designing, developing, and/or maintaining complex electrical, automation, and instrumentation systems.
- Ability to write specifications, control philosophies, or narratives effectively.
- Familiarity with general asset management processes and risk assessment techniques (e.g., CHAZOP, RCM).
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Initiative and ability to prioritize tasks, perform complex technical work independently, and exercise professional judgment.
- Experience providing technical guidance and oversight for complex projects and programs.
- Demonstrated commitment to Health and Safety procedures, policies, and plans.
