senior network and security engineer - nv1 in Adelaide

We are seeking a talented Senior Network and Security Engineer to work as part of the team to support the development and continued growth of our supporting systems.

Responsibilities would include:

• Contribute to the development of innovative networking and communications solutions with a focus on cyber security, scalability and performance.

• Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks

• Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls and interfaces with hypervisors.

• Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to constantly improve network efficiency and security.

• Investigating faults in the network

• Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases

• Experience with the following is desirable:

  • Cisco Routing and Switching infrastructure

  • Palo Alto Firewall Appliances (Physical + Virtual)

  • Software Defined Networking on Hyper-V and VMware

  • VMware Distributed Switching

  • Experience with ITIL Change Management Practises

  • SAN Storage Topologies

  • Windows Server (2012 - 2019)

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (6 - 8)

  • Understanding and experience with Multicast routing.

  • System Center VMM

  • Agile Development Processes and Projects

Experience/Qualifications required:

• Tertiary degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in IT.

• Experience within Defence or complex engineering project environments (desirable)

• VMware Certified Professional Certification (desirable)

• Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification (desirable)

  Applicants must be Australian Citizens with a Current or reinstatable NV1 to meet Defence security requirements.
