About the Role

The Senior Network and Safety Officer is responsible for leading high level network and road safety, investigations and technical assessments, providing high level advice, assisting in delivery of programs.

Responsibilties

  • Lead internal teams and contractors in high level traffic, safety and land use development investigations, audits and technical assessments to identify options to address traffic and safety issues on the road network
  • Assist in management of allocated programs and projects within the precinct, including consultation with councils and stakeholders, undertaking regional planning and managing delivery of allocated road network programs
  • Assist in the development and application of state-wide network management procedures
  • Provide expert network management advice within the department and to councils through traffic and development committees, to ensure effective resolution of issues and good project outcomes
  • Undertake community consultaion in relation to allocated projects and manage timely and considered responses to customer road safety and traffic issues

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in traffic ebgineering or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of network management policies, guidelines, technical directions and procedures
  • Demonstrated expertise in the development of solutions to complex network management and road safety problems utilising the Safe Systems approach
