We are working with a leading domestic bank seeking to expand a newly created Privacy Office with Senior Managers for a variety of roles involved in providing compliance advice to internal stakeholders, involvement in developing the privacy framework and guidance to technology and project teams.

Experience/skills required

  • Min 4 years compliance experience with exposure to Privacy Compliance is essential be it from a generalist compliance role or acting as Privacy Officer inc. banks, wider financial services businesses and Telcos/ASX listed corporations
  • Good technical knowledge with strong people skills and excellent communication skills, able to translate technical requirements in plain english in a very dynamic, fast moving environment

Urgent assignment - Working with well known Banking group on a Compliance contract role in Sydney with a focus on Data Privacy, including Compliance advisory to stakeholders and implementation of Data Privacy programs. $600 - $730 per day 6 month contract role. Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for the implementation of the Data Privacy Programs.
  • Providing advisory support to Australia / NZ Country Compliance Officers, their teams and Global Functions stakeholders in-country in mitigating regulatory risks.
  • Supporting the effective implementation of controls necessary to mitigate the regulatory risks
  • Provide input, as needed, on implementation plans to address regulatory developments.
  • In certain circumstances or markets, the role will support Data Privacy initiatives that are under the responsibility of Compliance.

Job Background/context:

  • The enhancements to the Privacy Laws in Australia requires to have a nominated Privacy Officer who is responsible to managing compliance with relevant Privacy Policy.
  • The successful candidate will ensure that applicable laws and regulations are shared with the business and controls in place.
  • Data Privacy initiatives that are under the responsibility of Compliance, given the regulatory changes that are occurring in that area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in the development and implementation of data privacy programs and governance frameworks


 Strong industry experience of at least 5 years, with a background in Compliance, Risk or Control, ideally gained in a role within an international financial institution.

 Good background in project and stakeholder management across a range of business and countries

 Strong understanding of regulatory environment, in particular Privacy regulations in the financial sector in Australia and New Zealand.

 Experience working in a Privacy role in a financial services or other regulated body.
