This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Manager to lead the Land Use Assessment team in the delivery of over $1b worth of road programs for a client side organisation.

As a Senior Manager you will be responsible for leading and providing direction to staff in the development of land use assessments. You will be responsible for advising authorities and developers on land use planning instruments proposals and development applications to meet legislative guidelines on environmental planning, assessment, integrated land use, road and transport planning. In addition you will also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring land use proposals and development applications are managed by influencing and communicating RMS requirements in accordance with relevant planning and road legislation, policy and guidelines to safeguard the long term integrity of the state road network
  • Provide advice and guidance in partnership with key stakeholders in the formulation of planning instruments to reflect whole of government planning strategies and targets
  • Ensure input from all relevant project stakeholders when nominating key conditions and requirements in response to planning instruments, Transport Management and Accessibility Plans (TMAPs), city centre studies, and major land use proposals
  • Ensure client side objectives and financial interests are taken into account in the negotiation and establishment of appropriate deeds, agreements and contribution plans for major land use proposals
  • Identify and implement strategies to minimise the risk of future land use impacts on the state road network by promoting an integrated approach to land use and transport planning and encouraging the use of alternative transport modes
  • Put systems in place to enable the issuing of formal consent/concurrence in approving road works on the state road network, installation of traffic facilities and access to classified roads
  • Contribute to the development of land use business processes, procedures and reporting mechanisms for the State

To be successful in this role you will need to have a tertiary qualification in urban or transport planning or engineering and have a understanding of NSW planning and assessment legislation. You will also need to have a proven record in being able to deliver land use planning and developments in Australia.

Reporting into the Director for precincts you will paid a total package of up to $184k package - dependent on experience with a start date anticipated in early - mid June.
