Reporting to the Financial Controller the role will primarily focus on the monthly and annual financial accounting for the Group and subsidiaries combined with the day-to-day activities of the finance function.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Group Accountant:
- Assistance with the Group’s Half Year and Full Year statutory reporting
- Provide technical oversight and mentoring to Group Financial Accountants
- Support the Financial Controller in the consolidation and standardisation of financial control activities to drive efficiency
- Provide leadership to the Group’s month-end close process including reviewing the Group’s monthly P&L and balance sheet for accuracy and completeness
- Work with other Finance areas and other departments to ensure the month end process is completed accurately and in line with the Group’s timetable
- Challenge the business in relation to month-end adjustments ensuring General Ledger integrity is maintained
As a Senior Group Accountant we are looking for the following technical and soft skills:
- CPA / CA qualified (or international equivalent)
- Strong technical accounting experience within a financial control function
- Banking/Financial Services industry background
- Leadership experience, mentoring and development of others
- Understanding of control frameworks
- Superior written and verbal communication skills and building relationships
- Continuous improvement mindset
