The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO to establish and maintain efficient accounting procedures, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
They will also collaborate with Executive Directors to with a monthly management reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage monthly corporate group consolidated accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of annual statutory reports and audits, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Coach then Lead 2 team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing finance team.
- Review and re-design accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy, playing a key role in implementing new accounting systems.
- Oversee joint venture accounts, manage property revenue and expenses, and ensure accurate valuations and impairments.
- Manage group cash balances and loan registers, providing necessary information for bank and development team requirements.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Strong expertise in statutory reporting, internal month-end management reporting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, process improvement, and accounting systems implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and lead junior staff, focusing on their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Business/Commerce with a specialization in Accounting.
- Membership or progress towards membership in a recognized Australian Accounting Body (CA or CPA).
Key Performance Indicators:
- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Effective leadership and development of junior team members.
- Successful implementation of process improvements and new accounting systems.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary of $120,000 + super to $125,000 + super, depending on experience in the property or real estate industry.
- Salary can increase based on the candidate’s management experience.
- Full-time office position, located 1 minute from the train station, with a 9.5-day fortnight (free Friday afternoon every two weeks).
