Key Responsibilities
The role will support communications and engagement of two programs in the Regulation Group in the Department namely the whole Victorian Government regulatory reform program and the insurance consumer awareness campaign. It is estimated that the role will focus primarily on supporting the whole of the Victorian government regulatory reform program for the first three months, shifting to an even split for the remainder of the engagement.
The whole Victorian Government regulatory reform program is a multi-year initiative to help make Victoria an easier place to do business by simplifying regulatory requirements, speeding up and digitizing approval processes and driving other reforms to save businesses time and money through a reduction in regulatory burden and free them up to grow.
- Develop and implement a communications road map and messaging to build awareness, engagement, and uptake of a new regulation website and the regulatory reform program.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of communication efforts through website analytics, surveys, and other forms of feedback to adjust strategies as needed.
- Work collaboratively within a team of project managers and economists to provide expert advice on stakeholder management and communication requirements for increasing our reach, influence and brand identity across government
- Support the management of the consultancy tasked with developing the communications and stakeholder engagement approach and materials to deliver the campaign.
- Distribute marketing and communications collateral (such as case studies, fact sheets, online content, event briefs, communication plans and internal communications) consistent with the whole of government and department communication policy and standards.
- Translate technical digital and communication terminology and concepts for non-digital department staff to enable greater understanding of the development of new channels
Key Selection Criteria
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to create effective and engaging content for a range of mediums, and adapt technical content so that it is easily understandable for a range of audiences and a positive user experience, including for digital platforms.
- Proven experience working within a digital and online communication function in a complex environment, including building and managing relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale CMS-driven online systems (website and/or intranet) with distributed authoring systems.
- Expertise in a wide range of digital and online technologies, including content management systems and website analytics tools.
- Ability to be self-motivated, responsive, and flexible in an environment with multiple priorities.
- Understanding of the APS digital communication environment, including digital standards, best practice and emerging trends would be beneficial.
Experience & Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, media, or a related discipline, and/or equivalent demonstrated experience in a related field.
