Are you looking for your next big break in residential lending? Are you a senior credit professional who currently holds a high delegated lending authority (DLA)? Do you want to build your profession in loan management within a reputable financial institution and grow a lending portfolio for it’s super members, teachers and healthcare professionals? If you have up to 3 years lending experience in a bank or financial institution, have a qualification in a Bachelor in Finance, Cert IV in Credit Management or similar, with experience in mortgage services, third party client services, residential lending, or credit this may be the role for you!

My client is looking for a credit professional to join their rapidly growing niche bank in a full-time capacity located at our Melbourne CBD office, reporting to the General Manager. Experience in banking and credit analysis for a with a passion for delivering exceptional service to customers and internal and external stakeholders is a must to be successful.

In this new role for 2021, you will be responsible for completing the decisioning process of all loans in a high volume environment, to proceed to conditional approval. Your ability to review complex loan structures is highly desirable, as some files will require a manual decision making process. You will be on top of all lending criteria and legislative requirements, and be able to identify and mitigate any potential risks during assessment. Your demonstrated high level of customer service and ability to work with high profile clientele will set you apart. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients as well as internal and external stakeholders such as valuers and lawyers.

In addition, to be successful in this role, you will need to also be able to have:

  • Lending product knowledge and strong understanding of the credit process;
  • High level of knowledge of the National Credit Code; Privacy Act and Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice and 4C’s
  • Nurturing and managing teams
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage workflow effectively on your own
  • Learning and development skills to grow the credit team



In return, you will be remunerated a generous packaged salary of $90,000 - $95,000 (inclusive of super) with the ability to grow within the firm and the business unit. This is for someone who is looking to develop their consumer knowledge and technical skills in the residential lending sector, and may be wanting to move one step further in expertise from a third party sector or front line role from a major bank.
