    This Tier 2 Commercial Construction Company has more than three decades of experience delivering commercial and industrial projects across a range of sectors including aged care, education, defence, food and beverage and retail. This business has offices in SA, QLD, VIC, WA and NT.

    The Role

    With new and exciting projects in 2022, this company is looking for a Senior Contracts Administrator to join the team in Adelaide and work across projects nationally ranging from $20M - $50M builds.

    The Senior Contracts Administrator will be accountable for administering the contract between Client and Head Contractor as well as between Head Contractor and Subcontractors for commercial construction projects. And to assist the team in the delivery of projects that meet clients’ expectations for quality and safety within the agreed time frame and budget.

    Responsibilities:

    • Preparation and submission of variation orders and contractual notices
    • Preparing head contract progress claims and reports
    • Assistance in project cost reporting and forecasting
    • Preparing head contract deliverables
    • Liaising and effectively communicating with clients, architects, consultants and subcontractors
    • Negotiation of subcontract packages and subcontract administration
    • Ability to interrogate contractual claims and variations
    • Knowledge and implementation of AS form of contracts

    Key requirements:

    • Preferably a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline e.g., Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics, Quantity Surveying
    • At least 5 - 8 years local experience in commercial construction with either a Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder as a contracts administrator
    • Experience using CHEOPS is preferred
    • Strong commercial acumen, communication and negotiation skills
    • Ability to show leadership
    • Ability to make quick, clear and concise decisions
    • Ability to build constructive and proactive relationships with all project team members including subcontractors, clients and consultants.
