About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior API Connect Consultant to join our clients team and provide top-tier consulting services. This role focuses on architecture, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and delivering innovative solutions with IBM API Connect.
The successful candidate will work closely with our clients product management and support teams to ensure stable and cutting-edge API solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- API Design & Development:
- Design, develop, and deploy RESTful and SOAP APIs using IBM API Connect.
- Build custom policies, micro-services, and secure API gateway configurations.
- API Management:
- Oversee the full API lifecycle, including creation, monitoring, visioning, and optimisation.
- Implement and manage API security policies (OAuth, JWT, API keys), access control, rate limiting, and error handling.
- Integration Architecture:
- Collaborate with architects to define API strategies and create scalable integration solutions for complex systems.
- Collaboration:
- Work with development, operations, and QA teams to deliver robust end-to-end solutions.
- Provide guidance on API best practices, performance optimisation, and security.
- Performance Optimisation:
- Conduct tuning and troubleshoot performance issues to ensure low latency and high throughput.
- Documentation & Training:
- Develop comprehensive API documentation and conduct training sessions for internal and external stakeholders.
- Security & Compliance:
- Ensure APIs meet industry standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2) and address vulnerabilities in collaboration with security teams.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with API management trends and suggest improvements for development and integration processes.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Experience:
- 10+ years in API design, development, and management.
- Extensive hands-on experience with IBM API Connect and related tools.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in API security measures and industry compliance standards.
- Skilled in designing and implementing scalable integration architectures.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to seamlessly integrate with the client team and collaborate effectively.
- Security Clearance:
- Minimum Base Level Clearance is mandatory.
