The Role

The primary function of the Sales Manager is to grow my clients APAC business. This is a sales focused role with market development/ territory expansion at its core and includes the management of 4 sales people. The role is responsible for setting/implementing the local sales strategy, winning new business, coaching and managing the team, and overseeing all local group operations. Ensuring the sales targets are being met and clients are receiving excellent customer service.

The Responsibilities

Sales Management

  • Developing the APAC Sales Strategy (this should be a short PowerPoint based on the “FY19 Target”) that breaks down how the initiatives ensure we hit our targets.
  • Managing the sales team to proactively sell our Products and Services to companies of all sizes.
  • Performance management of the team, celebrating success and managing poor performance
  • Working with the Head of Marketing (UK) to refine/improve/enhance our marketing literature, covering sales presentations, brochures, case studies etc.
  • Distribute inbound leads (web, salesforce, resellers and telephone) to the relevant team members, ensuring the team proactively follow up all leads generated
  • Ensuring the use of to capture all contact information, own/maintain the company pipeline and produce necessary pipeline reports.
  • Providing regular, accurate weekly reporting; Rev/GP forecasting and sales activity KPIs
  • Staff recruitment – BDM and Telesales

Business Development

  • Market development/ territory expansion.
  • Prospecting for potential new clients and converting this into increased business.
  • Meet clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging our local network.
  • Proposal writing, responding to RFIs and RFPs / tenders, supported by the ((UK)) bid manager

Operations/Service Delivery oversight

  • Create and maintain the APAC public course training calendar including planning dates and allocation of trainers in collaboration with the operations team (UK).
  • Liaise with (UK) operations and head office and provide information and reports where required
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external trainers

The Requirements

  • Displays accountability and responsibility in the work environment
  • The ability to quickly pivot between strategic business development and transactional administration, prioritising the most important
  • Ability to problem solve and provide solutions
  • Self starter with the ability to work autonomously and be self sufficient
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Continual commitment to learning: company products and services, business partners, market place, the competition
  • B2B sales experience – ideally in software, training, or the media industries
  • Experience in managing and motivating a team of sales personnel
  • A proven track record of developing new business and enhancement of client relationships
  • Examples closing significant new business with large ($100k+) national/multinational customers
  • Experience using CRM systems, preferred
  • Strong customer service and time management skills
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
