ABOUT THE EMPLOYER

A leader in the field of construction and utilities, this organisation has a solid pipeline of work ahead and 2021 is going to be busy. Due to an increase in project workload there is an opportunity for an ambitious HSEQ Coordinator based in local Sydney. This opportunity presents a stable and secure future with a dynamic and forward thinking team.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The primary function of this role is to support the project team on site and be a prominent source of guidance for contractors, the client and colleagues. You will get the opportunity to manage safety, environment & quality across projects. You implement HSEQ management system policies, procedures & initiatives. A stable organisation with a positive culture, this role presents the chance to work alongside committed professionals who encourage a collaborative team environment. Supporting operational staff, you will manage safety and environment on site and be a source of guidance for all health, safety, environment and quality queries. You will carry out risk assessments and inductions and ensure adherence to NSW legislation.

To promote a positive safety culture you will support and initiate improvements regarding HSEQ and regulatory compliance processes. Communication is key in this role as you’ll liaise with internal and external stakeholders and manage HSEQ compliance for contractors.



KEY EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Civil or utilities construction project experience
  • Carry out health and safety, environment & quality audits and work- place inspections
  • Steer the development and implementation of HSEQ standards that align with compliance and due diligence requirements
  • Work closely with senior management to adhere to legislative requirements
  • Promote best practice and a positive safety culture
  • Implement system changes and improvements to demonstrate continuous improvement
  • Experience dealing with Safework Australia, EPA
  • Experience in a HSEQ role within road construction, water, gas, renewable energy or related maintenance is essential.

QUALIFICATION / SALARY:

  • Diploma in OHS or related field
  • Return to work coordination Certificate
  • Cert IV In Training & Assessment
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Citizenship or permanent resident visa holder
