Your new role
As a Safety Area Manager your role will be to lead the coordination of the Area Project Safety Team and provide day to day specialist support to internal stakeholders (including the Construction Leadership team, employees, contractors, clients and visitors during the project life cycle) to drive safe delivery of the Works.
- Provide safety and rehabilitation expertise, identify, communicate and ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and the projects system requirements.
- To monitor the performance and coordinate, support and develop the Project’s safety professionals in your area of responsibility.
- Ensure all Project personnel are adequately equipped to meet the health & safety requirements of their role in the workplace by ensuring that they have completed all inductions.
- Manage and ensure the adequate implementation and effectiveness of workplace registers, closing out corrective actions, completion of work packs and version control.
- To undertake ongoing review of project safety performance with a view to identifying trends, capturing and communicating key learning's and to achieve continuous improvement.
- To participate in and ensure that the relevant work area maintains disciplined, robust quantitative and qualitative risk management processes, associated with health & safety.
What you will need to succeed
- Certificate IV in WHS (Diploma or higher desired)
- Experience in Civil/Infrastructure
- Experience in a tier 1 or tier 2 environment
