ABOUT THE EMPLOYER

A leader in the railway industry, this organisation offers robust and efficient construction, operations and maintenance delivery. Due to an increase in project workload there is an opportunity for an ambitious Safety Advisor or Safety Coordinator based in North Sydney for the metro line extension package.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The primary function of this role is to support the project team on sites and be a prominent source of guidance for contractors, the client and colleagues. You will get the opportunity to manage safety across projects in Sydney and interstate . You will work with the rail safety and HSEQ team to maintain both Quality, Environmental and Safety Management Systems to ensure they comply with Australian Standards. There is diversity in this role allowing for skills to be utilised in the field and in the office. KEY EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Risk identification & assessment, ensuring regulations are met across the road and rail industry
  • Carry out health and safety audits and work- place inspections
  • Steer the development and implementation of HSEQ standards that align with compliance and due diligence requirements within the rail industry
  • Work closely with senior management to adhere to legislative requirements
  • Promote best practice and a positive safety culture
  • Implement system changes and improvements to demonstrate continuous improvement
  • Experience working in a rail environment with track maintenance and upgrades
  • Actively analysing Safety performance, reporting, system updates
  • Maintaining the company Integrated Management System to an accredited level

QUALIFICATION / SALARY:

  • Diploma in OHS or related field
  • Experience in a safety role in rail either client side or contractor side
  • Extensive knowledge of rail safety standards
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Citizenship or permanent resident visa is a must
  • Current drivers licence & willing to travel
  • Current RIW card or willing to renewal expired card
