The suitable Regional Manager will carry out the functions of an Inspector as delegated or assigned under all acts regulated by ERR, Regional Manager ERRs must hold the powers of an Inspector within the following acts:

  • Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act 1990
  • Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2010
  • Greenhouse Gas Geological Sequestration Act 2008
  • Petroleum Act 1998
  • Geothermal Energy Resources Act 2005

They will drive the continual development of improved operational policies and procedures; industry performance standards and guidelines; and programs to promote adoption of effective compliance and environmental management systems by the minerals and extractive industries.

This role would potentially suit somebody who has experience in Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP) or has previously worked as an Environmental Advisor or Environmental Project Supervisor.

qualification

A relevant tertiary degree in an environmental science, engineering, natural resource management or other relevant qualification and preferably with significant experience in mining or quarrying

responsibilities

- Establish and maintain systems of planning, control, training, output measurement and reporting for district activities to ensure that resources are effectively and efficiently applied

- Plan and manage the activities of other inspections staff within the district and locally supervise other district staff

- Together with ERR's stakeholder relations experts, work with key stakeholders in the community and the public and private sectors in relation to earth resources activities
