This role will see you managing the provision of support services to local Regional staff, wider departmental stakeholders, external community stakeholders and the general public.

The primary purpose of this role is to be a warm welcoming presence for all visitors and provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Alongside this, the role is also responsible for ensuring that the processing of all information and administrative duties are completed timely and accurately in accordance with the current Department policies and procedures.

In addition, the role also requires a motivated, well-organised incumbent who can prioritise their workload based on demand, escalate in a timely professional manner if and as required and have the ability to recognise when assistance needs to be sought.


  • General administration support
  • Oversee and coordinate meeting and conference preparations, including preparing agendas and follow up actions.
  • Arrange office meetings such as booking and preparing venues, agendas, catering, minutes etc.
  • Management of phones, sorting incoming and outgoing mail, mail outs, fleet management and coordinating building facilities where required
  • Timely and accurate information management within the DET logging system.
  • Organise couriers.
  • Uses appropriate purchasing processes that reflect the complexity of the procurement in accordance with departmental policy
  • Enters purchase requisitions into Ariba and processes invoices, mobile phone requests etc.


  • Delivering a high level of customer service and committed to delivering high quality outcomes for clients
  • Precious reception experience
  • Solid experience and up-to-date computer skills across Microsoft office, EDRMS and purchasing systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in self managing your own workload and delivery within a support function.
  • Previous experience working collaboratively in a team based environment.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and show initiative within the role.
  • Willingness to improving skills through on the job training and further study
  • Display a methodical approach with managing workload
